I've heard this question a lot. And five years ago, I heard the same question about TikTok. My friend told me: Jedi, why aren't you on TikTok? I was smart enough to ignore him. I was a TikTok Resister.
I regret that every single day.
The Pattern Is the Same — But Bigger
TikTok was a distribution platform. Getting in early gave creators and brands an enormous advantage that compounded over time. Those who got in in 2019–2020 had head starts that are essentially impossible to overcome now. I missed that window.
AI is not a distribution platform. It's infrastructure. It affects every part of how businesses operate — content, sales, customer service, analysis, product development. The people and businesses that build on AI now will have structural advantages that compound the same way early TikTok presence did — but across every function of their business, not just one channel.
This Is Different From Previous "AI Hype"
People who dismissed AI in 2022 or 2023 had a point — the tools weren't ready for business workflows. They are now. The gap between what AI can do today versus what it could do 18 months ago is enormous. This is not the same moment.
My Position
I'm not missing this one. And I don't want you to miss it either. The window to build AI-first operations while it's still early is closing. Not closed — but closing.
