50 Hours in One Week — Not a Flex, a Report
In the past week I spent nearly 50 hours working with OpenClaw, Claude, and related AI tools. Not casually — deeply. Building, testing, breaking, fixing, iterating. This is what 50 hours of intensive AI usage teaches you that a 10-minute demo doesn't.
What Surprised Me Most
The gap between a configured agent and an unconfigured one is enormous. Raw OpenClaw with no context gives you mediocre results. OpenClaw with deep system prompts, proper tool access, and clear context about your business gives you something that feels like a real team member. That configuration work is where the real value is — and most people skip it.
What Actually Works
Repetitive analytical tasks — reporting, summarization, research compilation — these get done at a level I can use directly. Creative tasks — content drafts, social posts, outlines — need my editorial pass but save significant time. Strategic thinking — still needs me. AI assists, doesn't replace.
What Doesn't Work (Yet)
Long-horizon tasks that require memory across many sessions still have limitations. Tools break. APIs go down. The system needs monitoring. This is real infrastructure, not magic. Treat it like a junior team member: high capability, needs oversight.
The Bottom Line
50 hours in: this is real. The productivity leverage is real. The learning curve is real. If you're willing to put in the setup time, the return compounds fast.
